Cookie Policy

This policy describes the cookies and similar technologies used on this website, how they are categorised, and what we will do before introducing anything non-essential.

It is written to describe what is actually running here, not a generic list of everything a website might use.

What this policy covers

This Cookie Policy explains how Bymond Private Limited uses cookies and similar technologies on bymond.com, what categories those technologies fall into, and what would change if we introduce new ones. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers personal data more broadly.

It does not cover BigBlueButton Host, which is a separate service brand operated by Bymond with its own policies published at bigbluebutton.host, and it does not cover systems we build or operate on behalf of a customer, which are governed by that customer's own policies.

What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store, and that is sent back to the server on later requests. Similar technologies achieve comparable results by other means.

  • First-party technologies are set by the site you are visiting; third-party technologies are set by another provider whose content or script the site loads.
  • Session cookies are discarded when you close the browser; persistent cookies remain until they expire or are deleted.
  • Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, pixels and tracking images, software development kits embedded in applications, and device or browser fingerprinting techniques.

What is running on this website today

Analytics and marketing wait for your choice

Analytics and marketing technologies are not loaded onto this site until you have agreed to them. Declining means the tag container is never added to the page at all, not added and then restricted. Your choice is recorded in your browser so you are not asked again on every visit.

Live chat is the exception, and we would rather say so plainly than bury it: it loads on every page regardless of your cookie choice. See live chat and visitor monitoring below.

  • Essential — always active. The site is delivered through a content delivery and security network. That provider may set strictly necessary cookies and process standard request information (such as IP address, request time and user-agent) to route requests, cache content, and detect and block automated abuse. We also store your cookie choice itself in your browser, so that it can be honoured.
  • Analytics — only with consent. Analytics on this site is provided by Google Analytics, and tells us in aggregate which pages are read and where navigation breaks down. Google processes that information under its own policies.
  • Marketing — only with consent. Campaign measurement and attribution, so we can tell which channels lead to enquiries.
  • Live chat and visitor monitoring — active on every page. Our chat widget is provided by Tawk.to and loads on every page of this site, not only when you open a conversation. As well as providing chat, it tells us which pages are being viewed in real time so that someone is available to help. Tawk.to sets its own cookies, and receives your IP address, the pages you visit, your referring page and general browser information, which it processes under its own policies. We also record each page you move to so the person replying can see what you have been looking at. We do not pass Tawk.to your identity; this website has no accounts.
  • Web fonts and assets. Fonts and images are served from our own domain rather than fetched from a third-party font or asset network, so visiting a page does not disclose your visit to an external font provider. This is true whatever you choose.

The site has no login and no personalisation, and it does not embed third-party media. This section describes the state of the website at the last-updated date above, and is maintained as part of the same review cycle as the rest of this legal section.

Categories we use, and how we treat them

We classify cookies and similar technologies into the categories below. The category determines how a technology is treated, in particular whether it may run before you have made a choice about it.

Essential

Strictly necessary to deliver the site and keep it secure and available: request routing, load balancing, caching, abuse prevention, and remembering a preference you have actively set, such as a cookie choice. These may run without consent because the site cannot function properly without them.

Security and fraud prevention

Used to protect forms and infrastructure against automated abuse, for example bot detection or a human-verification challenge on a form. Where such a mechanism is required for a form to work at all, it is treated as essential to that function; where it is broader than that, it is treated as non-essential.

Analytics

Used to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used (which pages are read, how visitors arrive, and where navigation breaks down) so we can improve structure and content. Analytics is treated as non-essential.

Functionality

Used to enable optional features such as live chat, scheduling widgets, or remembering a non-essential preference. Our live chat is in this category, and it is the one technology on this site that loads without waiting for a choice, because it doubles as the means by which we see that someone is on the site and needs help. If you would rather it did not run, you can block third-party cookies or block tawk.to in your browser, and the rest of the site will continue to work normally.

Advertising and marketing

Used to measure campaigns, attribute enquiries to a source, or build audiences for advertising. These are treated as non-essential and would require consent before being used.

Embedded third-party content

Video players, maps, scheduling tools and similar embedded content can set their own cookies and receive information about your visit as soon as the embed loads. Where we introduce embedded content, it is treated as non-essential.

Technologies that may be introduced

We may add further technologies to this website, for example if we introduce a newsletter, lead-generation measurement, scheduling, or embedded media. Depending on what we adopt, that could include additional search engine webmaster tools, advertising and social measurement pixels, network-level analytics, form protection and human-verification services, video embeds, scheduling tools, product analytics, and our own internal telemetry.

How to read this list

Naming a category of tool here is not a statement that it is in use. It signals what we may introduce, so the framework in this policy does not have to be rewritten each time. What is actually running at any given moment is described in what is running on this website today, which is updated when the site changes.

Anything non-essential we introduce is added to the consent categories described above and will not run before you have agreed to that category, and this policy is updated to name it.

Third-party providers

Where a third-party technology is used on the site, that provider processes information under its own terms and privacy policy, which we do not control and cannot vary on your behalf. Providers may use information they collect for their own purposes, including improving their services. Before relying on a third-party tool we consider what it collects and why; but if you want to know exactly what a given provider does with information about you, the policy of that provider is the authoritative source.

Changes and contact

We will update this policy when the technologies on the site change, and the effective and last-updated dates at the top of the page will reflect that. If you have a question about cookies or tracking on this site, or believe something is running that is not described here, tell us.
